Washington, We Have A Problem!
Topic: State Of The Union
This is how the takedown of an American President begins. First it was the Downing Memo which clearly showed that this administration was intent upon using violence and not pursuing diplomatic avenues in Iraq. Now the President's pick for U.N. ambassador has been shown to have illegally succeeded in stopping Jose Bustani from sending chemical weapons inspectors to Iraq prior to the start of the illegal and immoral war.

Why might a member of the Bush administration attempt to stop inspectors from checking to see if Iraq was in possession of huge caches of chemical weapons? The answer isn't that the administration was afraid what the inspectors would find, this administration was scared to death of what they wouldn't find.

Not finding WMD didn't stop this administration from attacking Iraq but the Bush administration didn't want more and more evidence that their case for war was a steaming pile of bullshit. In the words of the article chemical inspectors finding nothing "might have helped defuse the crisis over alleged Iraqi weapons and undermined a U.S. rationale for war." So Bush sends in his right hand man in all things evil, the good ole' chickenhawk himself, John Bolton (Bolton Said to Orchestrate Unlawful Firing)

If the law doesn't catch up with this administration, history will.

Turning The Corner?
Topic: Iraq
As you read this article I ask that you put familiar names to the dead, like John, Colleen, Nick, Ashley, Michael or Bill and conjourn up the images of what this would look like if it happened in your hometown. Think about you and your neighbors children, your nephews and nieces, and your grandkids in the place of children in this situation. Death Toll at 825 Since New Iraq Gov't.

Keep in mind that this carnage has taken place since February 1st 2005 in a country that has the same population as New York state. Remind yourself that this has been going on for over 2 years and there is no end in sight.

Self-Defense?
Topic: Iraq
I pray to God that this stuff finally catches up to this administration, U.S. AND RAF bombing raids tried to goad Saddam into war.

Apparently when our forces were only "entitled to use force in self-defence where such a use of force is a necessary and proportionate response to actual or imminent attack from Iraqi ground systems," someone ordered our military in 2002 to drop bombs at twice the rate dropped in 2001, not in response to any perceived threat or actual attack and "six months before the United Nations resolution that Tony Blair and Lord Goldsmith, the attorney-general, argued gave the coalition the legal basis for war."

If you don't believe that the Bush administration had Iraq in it's sights well before 9/11 and was going to war no matter what transpired you simply must remove your head from your ass.

P.S. The most unfortunate part about all this overwhelming hard evidence that proves that the Bush administration lied about everything regarding Iraq is that you'll probably only hear about it on The Indy Voice and a few other "liberal" sites. The "mainstream" media is too busy reporting on the important things like Michael Jackson and the runaway bride and the "conservatives" are too busy blaming liberals for everything evil in the world which is an utterly amazing accomplishment for a group that while receiving slightly under 50% of the popular vote has neither the money, the power or the voice, not to mention control of our 3 branches of government on their side to accomplish all this evil.

Bush: Money Being Wasted on Unneeded Bases

You know he's right, if he stops making war we won't need any more bases. There's 14 permanent bases, a 120 forward operating bases and hundreds of expeditionary and temporary bases we don't need in Iraq right now.

Why don't we start there?

Do you know why the President won't give a date for our troop withdrawal?

...ready for the rude awakening?

WE ARE NEVER LEAVING!!!

... but hey, the President can call it whatever he wants: Catapulting the Propaganda

I think this time he's telling the truth.

Even more powerful than the President telling the truth is a Senator on the floor of the Senate literally crying to try to appeal to other Republicans not to vote for John Bolton for fear of what the future will hold if Bolton nomination is passed and he represents the U.S. at the U.N.

Ease His Pain

What's the matter Mr. President, going down?

Accountability Era
Topic: State Of The Union
A snippet from a Washington Post editorial,

"Since this is the accountability era, and it is widely agreed upon that Newsweek should account for its errors and apologize for its mistakes, perhaps we can get back to applying similarly stringent requirements on the elected officials who make grave decisions, such as whether to go to war.

When the media finish scrutinizing Newsweek, it should get back to asking tough questions of the Bush administration. Questions like:

Who should be held responsible for the faulty intelligence on weapons of mass destruction that led the United States to declare war against Iraq?

Why has the president not apologized for warning America that Iraq presented an imminent threat, when that turned out to be the case?

Will Rumsfeld, who claimed prior to the war to know the precise locations of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, personally apologize to the families of the troops who died in the search for those weapons?

Given that McClellan has suggested that Newsweek editors need to go on Arab TV and explain and apologize for their errors, will Bush also go on Arab television to explain and apologize for the mistakes made in gathering and analyzing the pre-war intelligence?

Will the administration, which downplayed the costs of the war in Iraq, publicly apologize to taxpayers now that the costs have already exceeded $300 billion?"

It's About F@&king Time!
I don't care what he did or didn't do and I don't care what his past is because this is just about the best thing I haven't seen on TV and the closest thing to the truth that I have ever seen anyone say in a Congressional session:
British MP George Galloway blisters US policy on Iraq on MSNBC

The full video is here: British MP George Galloway Testimony, Kicking Ass!

P.S. If you watch this interview in it's entirety you will see that this is exactly how a man accused of a crime would respond if he was not guilty. This man is entirely forthcoming, answering every single question clearly and concisely so as to leave no stone unturned or leading one to believe that he has something to hide. He's just pissed off that the men that are questioning him are the same men that SHOULD be on trial!

Watch any of the neocons (especially Bush - the man has NEVER answered a direct question with a direct answer) testifying in congress or speaking publicly and any objective 3rd party would come to the conclusion that their behavior is a case in point of someone looking to hide, evade and spin the truth.

If George Galloway's guilty I'll eat my feet while their still attached to my ankles.

No One Expects The Inquisition
Topic: State Of The Union
I was just thinking about the ludicrous nature of the Republicans killing the filibuster. Something struck me as odd when I was reading an email on the subject. You see the use of the filibuster started in 1806. For those of you keeping score that would be 199 years ago. I thought to the recent debate about removing the word "God" from the pledge of allegiance. During a discussion with a European mate I was enlightened to the fact that most of the free world doesn't have a pledge and they look at us and consider our pledge to be a wee bit scary. I guess it kind of reminds them of the nationalism that allowed Hitler to murder 30 million people on their continent.

Anyway, I was thinking that in a country with a political climate as bizarre as ours why would conservatives push so strongly to keep the word "God" in the pledge when they don't feel the need to keep the filibuster. I decided to look into the history of the pledge and found, of all things, irony. First of all, according to Kerby Anderson's Commentaries the pledge was only written in "1892 by Francis Bellamy, a Baptist minister who also embraced many socialist ideas." The original writing DID NOT include the word "God." In fact, "God" wasn't added until 1954. That's just 51 years ago. Most people I know are older than that!

I asked myself if I could ever see a Republican argument for the pledge that didn't include them mentioning that it is an institution that has been around for generations, which as I just pointed out is obviously not true? I think the answer is clearly no. Why then do they so loudly condemn those that claim that the filibuster is an institution in this country that has protected minorty rights for 199 years? Why all of a sudden is there such a pressing need to do away with it? Are the Democrats acting in a way that is so revolutionary and threatening to our Republic that drastic measures must be taken? Or is it more likely that dangerous fundamentalist "Chrisitans" have overtaken this party? Is it possible that what makes them so dangerous is their prideful ignorance where they neither understand history nor care to? Is it that they don't care about the means so long as they reach their ends?

Draw your own conclusions but it looks to me like it's just another attempted "Christian" inquistion seeking to purge the heretical dissenters from this country, but this time instead of Torquemada being "The Grand Inquisitor," it's an almost mythological beast that has the face of Bill Frist, the patience of Jerry Falwell and the logic of Pat Roberston.
